The prime minister’s economic adviser Muhammad Abdul Khalid admitted that the Economic Affairs Ministry’s yardstick for poverty was outdated. He said to resolve this problem, we should accept reality.<br /><br />This comes after UN special rapporteur Philip Alston criticised the Malaysian government for severely under-representing the true state of poverty in the country.
